The artifact which resembles a large statue was photographed by the rover as it surveyed the rocky terrain around gale crater.
By any means that is big, and that's one of the reasons it stands out in the raw image.
Even without enhancements and processing, we can still make out some stunning details, including a defined head with hair, a large bulky body, two arms and what appears to be a throne.
When I was processing this image, I noticed the humanoid had a possible creature laying across his lap, I believe this could be a large lizard of some kind.
Due to the poor quality of the raw image provided by NASA, I had to process it and then add some enhancements so everyone could see, how much of an important discovery this is.
I also added appropriate colors and I used a little artistic license to finally bring out, what this artifact could have looked like, before hundreds of years of weather erosion took its toll.
In my opinion, this is one of the most important artifacts ever discovered, basically because it proves that an intelligent civilization did exist on Mars at some point, and I believe NASA knows about this, but for some unknown reason, they have decided to withhold this historic information from the general public.
