Its not just mars that has some bizarre anomalies scattered across its surface, so does the moon.
This anomaly, which was photographed during the Apollo 17 mission, appears to show a tank turret on the moons surface, not far from the lunar lander, the object even appears to be the correct scale to fit the theory.
Once the image is enlarged we can see a box shaped object with a long pipe or barrel protruding from it, and it does appear to resemble the turret of a tank.
I can't find any other images from this location in the raw files, so i cannot say conclusively that its not just a trick of light and shadow, which sometimes happens, even on mars, but if it is there and it is an artificial object, then why didn't the astronauts report it or at the very least examine it, i guess we will never know.
